Tuesday, May 9, the choir program hosted their spring concert. This concert was extra special because the choir students and families hosted a retirement reception for Mrs. Elliott, Mt. Juliet's choir and piano teacher. This was a celebration of what Mrs. Elliott has brought to our school, as well as a bitter-sweet farewell.
Mrs. Elliott has been at Mt. Juliet High School for over 20 years, building the choir program from the ground up. She is charismatic, hardworking, kind and cares about every one of her students. She has led her students to win countless competitions, and builds a sense of a community within the choir group. Her students and fellow co-workers are sad to see her go but grateful for everything she brought to MJHS.
Only some of the accomplishments of this year's choir program:
More recently, the SOUL choir went to the Solo & Ensemble Festival and they earned a score of SUPERIOR for their outstanding performance! Also, seven students earned SUPERIOR for their solos or small ensembles.
Vivian Acevedo, Lainy Frontz, Ruby Kallaos, Carter Hinckley and Thailand Rees all made TN All-State choir this year!
Colt Allen sang a Sounds Baseball game April 11 where he represented MJHS, making us proud.
Mt Juliet is so proud of the students of the choir and Mrs. Elliott for the dedication and bear pride they showed for this year!
