Mt. Juliet High School’s football game against Wilson Central will proceed as planned tonight at 7 p.m., despite recent weather concerns.
The remnants of Hurricane Helene, which made landfall yesterday as a Category 4 hurricane produced heavy rains and wind throughout the region, which has caused Wilson County Schools among other school districts in Tennessee and surrounding states to close Friday, Sept. 27.
Homecoming festivities have been rescheduled due to the weather. The celebration will now take place next Thursday at halftime during the Bears football game against Antioch High School.
A pep rally is planned during 4th block Focus to celebrate Homecoming.
However, due to the inclement weather and the need to reschedule, there will not be a Homecoming parade this year.
Students were encouraged to stsy safe throughout the weekend during these weather conditions caused by Hurricane Helene.
The hurricane weakened to a tropical storm after moving north; however, the remnants are expected to continue impacting weather conditions in Tennessee through the weekend. Emergency services are monitoring the situation, and residents are advised to stay informed and prepared for potential flooding and hazardous conditions.
